Electrical Safety Compliance Calendar Software (1910 Subpart S)
OSHA's Electrical standards (29 CFR 1910 Subpart S) cover electrical installation safety, safe work practices for employees working on or near energized equipment, PPE requirements, and specific electrical equipment standards. Combined with NFPA 70E requirements for arc flash hazard assessments, energized work permits, and electrical PPE testing, the compliance obligations for electrical safety are both critical and recurring.
Our Electrical Safety Compliance Calendar Software and mobile app ensures every training requirement, PPE test, equipment inspection, hazard assessment, and program review is scheduled, tracked, and documented.
Key Electrical Safety Compliance Deadlines
Qualified Person Training
Train qualified employees on electrical safety-related work practices per 1910.332. Retrain at intervals to maintain competency. NFPA 70E recommends every 3 years.
Unqualified Person Training
Train unqualified employees on electrical hazards they may encounter per 1910.332(b). Retrain when supervision indicates noncompliance or conditions change.
Insulating Glove Testing
Electrically test insulating gloves before first issue and every 6 months per 1910.137(c)(2)(ii). Class 00/0 gloves may be tested every 12 months under certain conditions.
Insulating Blanket/Sleeve Testing
Electrically test insulating blankets and sleeves before first issue and every 12 months per 1910.137(c)(2)(iii-iv).
Arc Flash Hazard Assessment
Conduct or review arc flash hazard assessment to determine incident energy levels, arc flash boundaries, and required PPE categories. Update when electrical systems are modified.
Energized Electrical Work Permits
Issue energized electrical work permits when work on or near energized conductors cannot be de-energized. Document justification, hazards, PPE, and safe work procedures.
Electrical PPE Visual Inspection
Visually inspect insulating gloves, blankets, sleeves, and other electrical PPE before each use for holes, tears, punctures, and embedded objects.
GFCI Testing
Test ground-fault circuit interrupters at required intervals to verify proper operation. Document test results and corrective actions.
Electrical Equipment Inspections
Inspect electrical equipment, panels, wiring, and connections for damage, deterioration, and code compliance. Verify labeling and arc flash warnings.
Electrical Safety Program Review
Review electrical safety program including safe work practices, training effectiveness, PPE inventory, incident trends, and NFPA 70E compliance.
