Fire Protection Compliance Calendar Software (1910 Subpart L)
OSHA's Fire Protection standards (29 CFR 1910 Subpart L) cover portable fire extinguishers, fixed fire suppression systems, fire detection and alarm systems, fire prevention plans, and emergency action plans. With monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual, and multi-year inspection cycles running simultaneously across dozens or hundreds of extinguishers and fire systems, keeping track of every deadline requires a systematic approach.
Our Fire Protection Compliance Calendar Software and mobile app ensures every inspection, test, maintenance check, training requirement, and plan review is scheduled, assigned, and documented. Use our fire extinguisher barcode inspection software for efficient monthly inspections.
Fire Extinguisher Inspection Schedule (1910.157)
Portable fire extinguishers have a layered inspection schedule with multiple overlapping deadlines. Track them all with our fire extinguisher barcode inspection software and inspection software:
Monthly Visual Inspection
Verify extinguisher is in designated place, visible, accessible, charged, undamaged, with intact safety seal and legible instructions.
Annual Maintenance
Comprehensive examination of mechanical parts, extinguishing agent condition, and expelling means. Must be performed by trained personnel.
6-Year Internal Examination
Stored-pressure dry chemical extinguishers must be emptied, internally examined, recharged, and the maintenance recorded every 6 years.
Hydrostatic Testing (5-12 Years)
Pressure vessels tested at intervals based on type: 5 years for CO2/wet chemical, 6 years for stored-pressure water, 12 years for dry chemical/halon.
Key Fire Protection Compliance Deadlines
