EHS teams juggle dozens of fixed federal reporting dates, permit-specific submittals, and recurring inspection and training cycles every year. This page lists the major 2027 federal EHS reporting deadlines month by month, followed by the permit-driven and anniversary-based obligations that do not share a single national date, and links to detailed compliance calendars for 34 programs. Pair it with compliance calendar software to turn each deadline into an assigned, tracked task with reminders.
2027 Federal EHS Reporting Deadlines by Month
Dates are the federal deadlines as written in each regulation. State programs, delegated agencies, and individual permits can set earlier or additional dates, so treat this as the federal baseline and confirm the requirements that apply at each of your facilities.

Some deadlines fall on a weekend (for example, the January 30 MSGP annual report). Do not assume an automatic extension to the next business day; submit early unless your permit or the agency states otherwise.
Rules under revision — verify before you rely on these dates. Several federal programs were being reconsidered, delayed, or reissued during 2025 and 2026. Check the current status with EPA before planning around them:
- Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program (40 CFR Part 98): EPA proposed removing reporting obligations for most source categories and deferring Subpart W reporting.
- NSPS OOOOb and Emission Guidelines OOOOc: EPA extended several compliance deadlines for oil and natural gas sources. See our NSPS OOOOb deep dive.
- TSCA Section 8(a)(7) PFAS reporting: The one-time reporting window has been delayed and the rule’s scope was proposed for revision.
- Risk Management Program (40 CFR Part 68): EPA has been reconsidering the 2024 Safer Communities by Chemical Accident Prevention amendments. See our Safer Communities rule overview.
- EPA Multi-Sector General Permit: Confirm which MSGP is in effect and whether its annual report date has changed.
Permit-Driven and Recurring Obligations for 2027
Many of the obligations that generate the most findings during inspections are not tied to a single national date. They follow your permit language, the anniversary of your last review, or each employee’s training history. These are the cycles to schedule individually for each facility.
Title V operating permits
Semiannual monitoring reports and annual compliance certifications are due on the dates written into each permit, and deviations must be reported promptly (40 CFR 70.6). Many states also require an annual emissions inventory in the spring. See the Air permit compliance calendar.
NPDES Discharge Monitoring Reports
DMRs are submitted electronically through NetDMR or a state system on the monthly, quarterly, or annual schedule in your permit (40 CFR Part 127). Monthly DMRs are commonly due by the 28th of the following month, but your permit controls. See the DMR reporting software.
SPCC plans
Review and evaluate the plan at least once every five years from the last review, and have technical amendments certified by a Professional Engineer (40 CFR 112.5). Inspections and tests follow the schedule written into your plan. See the SPCC plan review and amendments.
Process safety (PSM and RMP)
PSM compliance audits are required at least every three years (29 CFR 1910.119(o)) and process hazard analyses must be revalidated at least every five years (1910.119(e)(6)). RMPs must be updated and resubmitted at least every five years (40 CFR 68.190). See the PSM compliance audits.
Hazardous waste
Large quantity generators track 2027 activity for the March 1, 2028 Biennial Report. Small quantity generators are not due to re-notify in 2027; the next re-notification is due September 1, 2029 (40 CFR 262.18). See the Hazardous waste compliance calendar.
Annual OSHA program requirements
Annual audiograms for employees in a hearing conservation program (1910.95), annual respirator fit testing (1910.134), annual bloodborne pathogens training and exposure control plan review (1910.1030), annual HAZWOPER refresher training (1910.120), annual portable fire extinguisher maintenance (1910.157), and periodic LOTO procedure inspections at least annually (1910.147). See the Safety compliance calendar.
Three-year OSHA cycles
Powered industrial truck operator performance evaluations at least once every three years (1910.178(l)), in addition to the PSM compliance audit cycle above. See the Powered industrial trucks compliance calendar.

Frequently Asked Questions
When must the OSHA 300A summary be posted in 2027?
Employers covered by OSHA recordkeeping must post the Form 300A summary of 2026 injuries and illnesses from February 1 through April 30, 2027, in a conspicuous place where employee notices are usually posted. The summary must be certified by a company executive and must be posted even if no recordable cases occurred.
When is the OSHA Injury Tracking Application (ITA) deadline in 2027?
Covered establishments must submit 2026 injury and illness data through OSHA’s Injury Tracking Application by March 2, 2027. Establishments with 20 to 249 employees in designated industries and establishments with 250 or more employees submit Form 300A data, and establishments with 100 or more employees in the industries listed in Appendix B to Subpart E of 29 CFR 1904 also submit Form 300 and 301 case information.
When are EPCRA Tier II reports due in 2027?
Tier II reports covering hazardous chemical inventories for calendar year 2026 are due March 1, 2027, to the State Emergency Response Commission, the Local Emergency Planning Committee, and the local fire department. Many states add their own data elements, submission systems, or fees, so confirm your state’s requirements.
When is TRI reporting due in 2027?
Toxics Release Inventory Form R and Form A reports covering calendar year 2026 activities are due July 1, 2027, through EPA’s TRI-MEweb system for facilities that meet the industry, employee, and chemical threshold criteria under EPCRA Section 313.
Is an RCRA Biennial Report due in 2027?
No. The RCRA Hazardous Waste Biennial Report is due by March 1 of each even-numbered year. The next report is due March 1, 2028, and covers hazardous waste generated and managed in calendar year 2027, so 2027 recordkeeping should be set up with that report in mind.
Is the GHGRP March 31 deadline still in effect for 2027?
The regulatory deadline in 40 CFR 98.3 is March 31 of each year. However, EPA proposed in 2025 to remove reporting obligations for most Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program source categories and to defer Subpart W petroleum and natural gas reporting. Confirm the status of the final rule with EPA before assuming either that you are exempt or that the deadline still applies.
